slab estimates explained
CardDropX GIL (Graded Intelligence Layer) estimates what a slabbed card might sell for. We show a range, not a guaranteed price — always verify on eBay sold listings.
How the estimate is built
- Raw price — latest market snapshot for the catalog card (TCGplayer, tcgapi, PriceCharting when enabled).
- Grade multiplier — raw × multiplier for grader + grade (PSA, BGS, CGC tables by game).
- Segment adjustment — optional tweak for game, rarity, and grade segment priors.
- Crowd comps — when ≥5 approved community sales match the same grader and grade, we blend a robust median with the prior estimate.
Ranges and confidence
| Method | Range |
|---|---|
| Multiplier only | ±15% band around the point estimate |
| Crowd blend (5+ comps) | Bootstrap / percentile range from filtered sale prices |
The price guide shows comp count, range method, and a confidence hint when available. Higher confidence usually means more matching crowd sales.
What we do not claim
- Not an official PSA, BGS, or PriceCharting valuation.
- Not a buy offer or appraisal for insurance.
- We do not scrape eBay sold prices into the app — we link you out to verify.
Submitting crowd comps
Paid and Max members can submit graded sale evidence (price, date, grader, grade). Trusted sellers auto-approve after a track record; others go through moderation. Comps improve ranges for everyone on that card and grade.
